The University of Mary Washington Galleries is pleased to present a group exhibition featuring the current members of the Studio Art faculty at the University of Mary Washington. The exhibition will be on view from September 8th to December 4th in duPont Gallery.
This exhibition focused on artist Margaret Sutton’s background as a technical illustrator for the Mergenthaler Linotype Company (1945–1969) and considers the influence of her profession on her artistry. Please click HERE to view the exhibition.

On Thursday, March 10th from 6pm to 7:30pm in the HCC Digital Auditorium, Claudia Volpe, Myrtis Bedolla, Ify Chiejina, Ashe Laughlin, Suzie Kim, Caliyah Ash, Maya Kirkpatrick, and Sophia Maldonado will discuss the history of Feminist art and highlight the works of African American female artists included in the ongoing exhibition.
Dan Finnegan’s solo show was exhibited in duPont Gallery from October 28 to December 5, 2021. The Opening Reception was on October 28 from 5pm to 7pm. His Artist Lecture was located in the HCC Auditorium and via Zoom on October 29 at 12pm. You can download the recording of Dan’s lecture HERE
The Intern Curated Exhibition of Fall 2021 was titled: Where Earth Meets Sky: Reflections on Nature from UMW’s Permanent Collection. It was exhibited in Ridderhof Martin Gallery from October 28 to December 5, 2021. The Opening Reception was October 28 from 5pm to 7pm.
