Lilac and Apple Blossoms

“She remembers with fondness the old fashioned Lilacs planted at the corner of her log cabin home under the bedroom window and their heady fragrance on warm spring nights when she could open her window.”

–Fred & Maryrose Wampler

In this work, Wampler combines the domestic and the whimsical. At the corner of a wooden structure, delicate pink apple blossoms reach out to touch vivid lilac blooms creating an explosion of color. One can almost imagine, as Fred describes, the intoxicating scent of these flowers on a warm spring night.
