Lilies & Trumpet Vine

“As we drive the countryside looking for flowers, we ‘collect barns’, becoming familiar with the specific ones and their varying shapes. Barns are part of the passing era which centered around family farms…The one in this painting is a particular favorite of ours and with it Maryrose has tried to show some of the relationship that exists so often between plants and people.”

–Fred Wampler

In this composition we are greeted by a striking spray of lilies and a trumpet vine all of the same brilliant orange-yellow hue. In the background, Wampler depicts a barn, revealing the rural setting where she captured this array of flora.
