Sutton’s composition relies on color to create dimension and wonder. The red lever with a yellow screw at the center of the work resembles the lever on a linotype pulled by the operator after creating a line of text. Once the operator pulled the lever, the line of text was introduced to molten lead, casting it in preparation for printing
