Student interns and monitors play a vital role in the operation of the UMW Galleries. They are important to both the day to day administration of the Galleries as well as the accomplishment of long-term projects. We appreciate your interest in working with the UMW Galleries and look forward to your application!

Internships
An internship with the UMW Galleries provides students with hands-on experience in museum collections management, exhibition design, and gallery administration. Each semester the Galleries employ up to six interns who want to pursue careers and gain expertise in the fields of Art, Art History, and Museum Studies.
Interns participate in many diverse projects under the direction of the Exhibition Coordinator and Collections Manager. Some activities include: digitizing and photographing the collection for our online database, updating collections storage facilities with archival quality materials, install and de-install exhibitions, providing tours to visiting groups, and much more.
Internships are open to UMW students and are available for credit.
