Artist Statement
Natural. That’s what I want to capture with these pieces. I wanted something functional and natural. I carefully crafted each piece on the potter’s wheel, and after many attempts I was left with these vessels. My illustration set is meant to be fun and childlike. It gestures towards my future career as an elementary teacher. My piece named “Clunky” is a fun vessel, that is meant to have lots of personality. It alludes to myself. It is clumsy and fun and not too serious. These pieces are made to be touched and held. They are to be used in your everyday life for coffee, pens, plants, or anything you need to be held.
